I was wondering if anyone has unwanted fire scar samples that they would
be willing to part with... I know samples are hard to let go of, but if
you find yourself sitting on boxes of old disks, I would love even just
one for demonstration purposes in my Fire Ecology course. You could even
consider it on loan and it could be returned at any time.

Here in North Wisconsin, old and interesting fire scars tend to be hard
to obtain, in rough shape, and/or generally show one recent fire. There
are areas where old trees with multiple scars exist, but I can't
personally/ethically justify trying to push through the permits needed
to destructively sample these rare trees just to obtain a demonstration
disk of my own.

If this something anyone might be interested in, I would certainly cover
shipping costs. Thank you very much, fire scar Santa:), I can be
contacted at the details below: Happy Holidays.
