Secure Fisheries seeks a Spanish-speaking fisheries science contractor to help 
us scope a new 
project in Colombia promoting food and economic security through sustainable 
fisheries. The 
contractor will conduct a desktop study on the sustainability of Colombian 
fisheries on the Pacific 
Coast in and around the city of Buenaventura, using peer-reviewed science 
papers, white papers, 
government documents, etc. The contractor will create a bibliography of 
resources, and write a 
review paper of her/his findings, with insight into the sustainability of 
specific seafood products. The 
contractor will additionally create a summary of fisheries projects on 
Colombia’s Pacific Coast, 
including but not limited to those led by non-governmental organizations, the 
government, and aid 
projects. 

Requirements: Location is flexible (work will be remote). Salary is negotiable. 
BS/BA required, MS/MA 
preferred in areas of fisheries biology, marine ecology, or fisheries policy 
and management. Must be 
fluent in Spanish (native speaker is preferred). Familiarity with tropical 
Pacific fisheries is a plus.
