We are seeking a candidate (m/f) with a strong back ground in interdisciplinary research that addresses societal challenges in biodiversity research. Possible research fields are placed at the interface between biodiversity on the one hand, and conservation, ecosystem services, ecological economics, public health or human well-being, on the other hand. An interest in birds or large mammals is advantageous. You will have the opportunity to develop your own research program. You should be willing to collaborate with members of the working group of Prof. Dr. Katrin Böhning-Gaese as well as natural and social scientists at SGN, Goethe University Frankfurt, and the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE) in Frankfurt. We expect the development of joint grant proposals, projects and publications and co-supervision of PhD students. Your profile: · Ph.D. degree in ecology or another relevant field · Experience in social-ecological systems research · Strong quantitative skills, e.g. advanced statistical analysis or ecological modelling · Previous postdoctoral experience is preferred, but not mandatory · Strong international publication record · Ability to generate third-party funding · Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as networking skills Salary and benefits are according to a full time public service position in Germany (TV-H E 13). The position is a 3-year fixed-term post, with a possible extension for an additional 3 years, starting as soon as possible.
