POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER: NUTRIENT NETWORK COORDINATOR Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior; University of Minnesota
We seek to hire a conceptually driven post-doctoral researcher to work on a collaborative team conducting and publishing scholarly research within the broad purview of the Nutrient Network (NutNet; nutnet.org), a globally distributed experiment manipulating herbivores and nutrient supplies in grassland ecosystems at over 100 grassland sites in more the 20 countries. The successful applicant will conduct their own research and also foster collaborative research with a research team of faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students who are conducting research at individual NutNet sites. They will also have the chance to collect and analyze new network-scale data from field sites or existing data sources to address novel questions. We are particularly interested in applicants with strong data and analytical skills, as an important part of this position is to manage data to facilitate collaborative research within the network and to help NutNet scientists with decisions on experimental implementation, data collection, and data management. Demonstration of excellent writing and communication skills is an essential qualification for this position. Review of applications will begin 1 March 2017 and the position will remain open until filled. Starting date is negotiable and may begin as soon as possible.
