The objectives of the session include: (1) describing the responses of ecosystem carbon processes to experimental manipulation on environmental or biotic factors; (2) investigating the potential responses of ecosystem C sequestration capacity to the expected future environmental change; 3) understanding the roles of biotic factors in regulating the most important function of ecosystem, carbon sequestration capacity, to future climate change; (4) suggesting future trends in manipulative experiment.
