Greetings ECOLOG-ers,
I am developing a framework to improve the results of
ecological/environmental assessments performed for data poor sites.

For example: If you wanted to estimate fish density of Pond A but did not
have the funds to collect primary data you might substitute data from a nearby
pond with similar characteristics.

I am looking for examples in the literature where researchers substituted
data from other sites or used proxy variables in models.

I am also looking for examples in the literature of models that were
developed for one site (or context) and applied to another site (or context).

Thank you,
