Some inspiration for us all, celebrated musician Paul Simon is coming out
of semi-retirement to do *a tour in support of E.O. Wilson's biodiversity
initiative* -- and he appears on Mongabay's latest podcast to talk about
this, working for a hopeful vs bleak future on the planet, and why he
became inspired by EO Wilson's message:

'Optimism is more inspiring than fear' he says at one point after a subtle
dig at the current U.S. political environment. Fast forward to minute 11 for
the beginning of the conversation.

Plus a *new acoustic ecology segment*, *"Field Notes," features a Princeton
researcher* who plays recordings comparing rainforests, timber plantations,
and oil palm farms in Borneo.
