From another list:
A world-renowned scientist, and chemical ecologist Martin
Heil (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Martin_Heil2/citations?sorting=recent&page=6) was
just denied entry into the USA from Mexico to give a talk at the
University of Arizona. He has visited many of our universities and the
United States on many occasions, including serving as organizing chair
for Gordon Research Conferences, and work for the International
Society for Chemical Ecology. Please spread the word of this to others
and hopefully we can send a message to our representatives in
congress, that increased or inappropriate vetting might continue to do
more harm to our international colleagues and the research community
at large. Signing petitions like the one below are helpful to bring
attention to the travel ban, but calling your senators
and representatives and telling them the increased vetting mechanisms
have large potential to restrict our freedoms, and our research
community is just as important.
