If you were interested in attending the 4th Symposium on Urbanization and Stream Ecology but thought you missed the registration deadline, you are in luck. The early bird registration period has been extended until April 21. The total cost for registration, all meals, and housing are quite reasonable (total cost is $255-$345 for professionals and $205-$295 for students for all 3 days). You can register on our website (https://urbanstreams.wordpress.com/suse4-registration/).
If you are unfamiliar The Symposium on Urbanization and Stream Ecology (https://urbanstreams.wordpress.com/), it is an interdisciplinary meeting held approximately every four-five years aiming to further the scientific study of stream ecosystems in urban landscapes. The 4th symposium’s theme is overcoming common barriers to catchment scale management and rehabilitation of urban streams through productive conversations among academics and professionals from the fields of stream ecology, engineering, management, planning, and the social sciences. Through a highly interactive format, attendees will work in groups focused on a specific topic (i.e., a track) to work towards an actionable outcome that may include developing and implementing novel management approaches, developing new collaborations, and identifying research priorities and funding opportunities. Any questions, comments, or suggestions can be directed to Robert Smith (smi...@lycoming.edu) or the organizing committee at urbanstreamssympos...@gmail.com.
