CONSERVATION FINANCE BOOT CAMP
June 12-16, 2017 (hosted at Duke University, Durham, NC)
Held in partnership with The Conservation Finance Network. Since 2007, the 
Conservation Finance Boot Camp has helped increase the ability of land and 
resource conservation professionals to apply innovative financing strategies to 
their work. Sessions feature interactive presentations from national 
conservation finance experts along with supplementary exercises guided by 
knowledgeable core faculty. The emphasis of the course is on hands-on tools and 
lessons from relevant case studies.

DRONES FOR CONSERVATION RESEARCH
June 26 - 28, 2017 (hosted at Duke University Marine Lab, Beaufort, NC)
This in-person, open enrollment course is a practical workshop for 
environmental professionals on the application of Unoccupied Aerial Vehicles 
(UAV)/ Unoccupied Aircraft Systems (UAS) - drones - in environmental monitoring 
and research projects. Duke's newly formed Marine Robotics and Remote Sensing 
Laboratory (MaRRS) staff will lead the seminars, demonstrations, and discussion 
sessions.  Option to add a FAA Remote Pilot Knowledge Prep &Test course.

SOCIAL MEDIA FOR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMUNICATIONS
October 2-November 17, 2017 (Online)
This training is taught online by two of the founding bloggers at 
SouthernFriedScience.com. It digs deep into the fundamentals of using social 
media for environmental communications, a critical assessment of the available 
tools, and how to design effective communications campaigns and assess their 
results.
