The Macrosystems Ecology Lab at Arizona State University (PI Benjamin
Blonder) is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for lab startup focused on
understanding leaf ecophysiology through projects involving venation
network architecture, stomatal response to extreme environments, and
economic tradeoffs. The position will involve both field ecophysiology
measurements as well as theory development. The lab uses a combination of
field, eco-informatics, and modeling approaches. Field sites are focused in
forests and alpine environments in Latin America, southeast Asia,
Scandinavia, and the United States. Projects could focus on any topic of
mutual interest, and use a combination of field, modeling, or informatics
approaches. Joining the lab at this early stage is an opportunity to gain
independence, close collaboration, and active mentoring. Candidates with an
interest in building on our science education and community outreach
initiatives are very welcome. Funding is available for 2 years at
competitive salaries, with additional support available for conference
travel and fieldwork. Start dates are around February 1st 2018 but can be
