The Département des sciences naturelles at Université du Québec en
Outaouais, Québec (Canada), invites applications for a tenure track
professor position in chemical ecology and natural product chemistry.

The qualified person has a PhD clearly related to the requested expertise.
Applicants who can explicitly demonstrate that their expertise combines
ecology and natural history knowledge with analytical methods or the
development of bio-assays are strongly encouraged to apply. Postdoctoral
experience and research accomplishments related to the temperate biome are
strong assets.

The qualified person must demonstrate the ability to rapidly and
independently obtain external research funding. The capacity to contribute
to teaching, particularly at the undergraduate level (e.g. biochemistry,
metabolic pathways, analytical methods, bio-assays), is essential.

Depending on her or his expertise and motivations, the successful candidate
will be expected to develop a program in one or more of the following fields
of research: forest extracts for health, food or animal feed, for plant
protection against insects or pathogens, or for industrial processes;
plant-fungus interactions (mycorrhizae or endophytes), in relation to biotic
and abiotic stresses; the role of chemical communication in community and
multi-trophic ecology; etc. Individuals with expertise in more than one
field related to chemical ecology and to natural product chemistry are
particularly invited to apply. A strong ability to collaborate with the
other professors in the Département des sciences naturelles and with members
of the Institute of Temperate Forest Science (ISFORT) (isfort.uqo.ca) is an
asset.

The Institute of Temperate Forest Science, an applied research organization
located in Ripon (Québec), is dedicated to the multidisciplinary study of
the temperate deciduous forest. The successful candidate will contribute to
the promotion and visibility of the Institute, the Department and the
University.

Applicants must have a good working knowledge of written and spoken French
at the time of the interview.
