One two-year postdoc position is available with Dr Daniel Metcalfe at Lund University, Sweden (http://www.nateko.lu.se/dan-metcalfe). The position will use a unique map of environmental research cross the Arctic to perform a rapid environmental survey of plants and soils across six of the least studied areas in the Arctic, then compare these measurements with matching surveys from two of the most intensively researched areas (Toolik lake, USA and Abisko, Sweden). The overall aim is to understand if and how the current patchy distribution of Arctic research affects dominant scientific paradigms.
For further details of the positions, and to apply, visit the following link (https://lu.mynetworkglobal.com/en/what:job/jobID:157625/). The application deadline is 31st August 2017, the position start date can be negotiated. We encourage applications from highly motivated and independent young scientists particularly with experience of ecological fieldwork in arctic ecosystems, soil science, measurement of gas fluxes, plant ecophysiology and / or plant community measurements.
