Position Title: Researcher (Scientist) on Insect Communication Position location: Dept. of Entomology, Chemistry and Nematology, The Volcani Center, Agricultural Research Organization, Israel
Requirements of the Position: Minimal Requirements: Education: Ph.D in Entomology, Ecology, Biological Sciences or disciplines related to the position description Post-Doctoral position of at least 1 year Scientific publication in refereed journals Other Requirements: Lead research on insect-plant communication or insect-insect communication. Specifically, conduct research on: insect cognition, insect-plant communication, mating decisions aiming at disrupting communication channels or related. The approach can be: molecular, genetic, physiological, chemical or mathematical. The ultimate goal of the research should be to develop novel but environmentally sound methods and techniques to manage agricultural insect pests. Priority will be given to candidates having proven abilities and experience with novel molecular methods, and those having scientific publications in insect neurosciences and sensory systems, in relation to insect communication.
