I'm coordinating an upcoming grant proposal to integrate promotion of increased replication (to assess validity and generality) with teaching of undergraduates.
We're generating a list of studies that had major impacts on the field of ecology (or evolutionary biology), AND that COULD plausibly be replicated (at least in part) by undergraduate students with professorial guidance over the course of a semester. If you have ideas for this list, please email me (even if the original study had design flaws). Also, we’ll have a table at ESA in Portland (Table E in the exhibit hall), and we’d love for you to come by and talk to us about your ideas. We’ll be happy to share the completed list (and more) with anyone who’s interested. Thanks!
