The Davidson College Biology Department invites applications for a tenure-track
position in quantitative integrative biology at the assistant professor level.
The position will begin July 01, 2018. We seek a biologist who addresses
research questions at the organismal level using contemporary statistical,
molecular, cellular, genetic, and/or computational tools with demonstrated
potential for excellence in undergraduate education. The new faculty member
will teach in rotation: a cutting edge organismal-level course (with lab) that
conceptually and methodologically goes both above and below the organismal
level, biostatistics (BIO240), the organismal-ecosystem half of introductory
biology (BIO112/114), and an additional course in the candidate's areas of
expertise.

A PhD in biology or a related field is required, with postdoctoral research and
teaching experience strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be
expected to develop an active research program capable of attracting external
funding and producing peer-reviewed publications with undergraduate co-authors.
Start-up funds and dedicated research lab space in a new interdisciplinary
science building designed to promote innovative teaching and collaboration
among STEM fields will be provided. For further information regarding the
