Senior Lecturer in Remote Sensing and Ecohydrology

The Australian Rivers Institute (ARI), Griffith University, Brisbane, 
has a full-time position available for an initial period of three years, 
to work collaboratively in the water sciences by providing high level 
technical and research expertise in remote sensing and ecohydrology, and 
supporting collaborative research within the Australian Rivers 
Institute. 

The position will transition after three years to a Senior Lecturer role 
in the Griffith School of Environment, with a requirement to develop, 
convene and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Griffith University has a long-established reputation for research 
excellence in the environmental sciences, especially in relation to the 
water sciences. ARI was established in 2006 as one of the University's 
areas of strategic research investment. The Griffith School of 
Environment is a research and teaching element where staff, graduate and 
undergraduate students gain valuable training, inter alia, in the 
identification, management and remediation of human impacts on the 
environment. A holistic study of the environment with an emphasis on 
sustainability underpins the degree programs offered by the School.

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD in a relevant field 
with extensive research experience and leadership responsibilities in 
remote sensing and ecohydrology, will have demonstrated strengths and 
knowledge of diverse research approaches and methodologies and have a 
developing or existing academic profile. High level analytical skills 
will be essential in this role. The ideal candidate will have excellent 
interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work 
effectively within a team.
