The Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia

applications for a tenure-track, academic year (9-month) position at the
Assistant Professor level.
We seek candidates whose research is at the organismal scale of
organization, and that integrates
ecophysiology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary ecology or functional
morphology. The ideal
candidate will use innovative approaches to address fundamental
questions in their field, and be
able to collaborate effectively with other members of the school. We are
interested in candidates
whose research program has a strong empirical focus, and applicants can
focus on any taxonomic
group or study system (terrestrial, marine or freshwater). The
successful candidate will be
expected to have demonstrated excellence and productivity in research,
to maintain a rigorous,
externally funded research program, and to participate in undergraduate
and graduate teaching.
Primary teaching responsibilities will include contributing to a
large-enrollment introductory
course in ecology, and upper-level courses in the successful candidate’s
area of expertise.

candidate would establish bridges with other units at UGA such as
Genetics, Forestry and
Natural Resources, Veterinary Medicine, Plant Biology, Marine Sciences,
Microbiology or
Entomology.
