The Department of Biology at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 2018. The Department seeks candidates with an earned doctorate and expertise in plant biology, plant population genetics, plant ecology or a related field; teaching experience and postdoctoral research experience are highly desirable. Related professional experience in a non-academic setting, such as government or consulting would be desirable but is not a requirement. Primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include teaching plant biology, field botany, and other introductory and upper level courses such as Population Ecology, Ecological Genetics, or other courses as appropriate to their specialty. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and maintain a research program in their area of expertise with the potential to involve students. Student advising and well as a commitment to university, community, and professional service are also expected. Auburn University at Montgomery is a comprehensive, public institution located in Alabama's capital city. Enrollment is approximately 5000 students. The Department of Biology includes twelve tenure-track faculty and offers undergraduate degrees in Biology and Environmental Science.
