?The Department of Biology at the University of South Dakota is recruiting an 
Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in ecological modeling to begin August 2018. 
We seek candidates who develop models to examine impacts of land-use, 
vegetation dynamics, and/or climate change on populations, communities, or 
ecosystems at local, regional and global scales. The successful candidate's 
research will complement that of existing faculty, enabling fruitful 
collaboration and mentoring of graduate students.  Opportunities for 
collaboration and research support include faculty with research interests in 
aquatic and terrestrial ecology, biodiversity, conservation and global change. 
Opportunities for collaboration also exist with faculty associated with a newly 
developed Ph.D. program in Sustainability and the Missouri River Institute 
(http://www.usd.edu/missouri-river-institute). Teaching may include courses in 
the candidate's area of expertise, introductory biology, general ecology, or 
global change biology.



The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish a productive 
and extramurally funded research program and actively train M.S. and Ph.D. 
students. A Ph.D. is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred.
