1. *Director of the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit* and Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Botany, University of Hawaii Manoa 2. We are searching for a highly creative and interactive scholar who fits into our multidisciplinary department, who has significant scientific programmatic experience, and who would serve as the Director of the Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit (PCSU: http://manoa.hawaii.edu/hpicesu/pcsu.htm). PCSU is a University of Hawaii research unit focusing on basic and applied research on conservation of natural resources and biodiversity in Hawaii and the Pacific, working with a range of state and federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, private foundations, and private landowners. The unit has a multi-million dollar annual budget and employs more than 400 people across the State. 3. As Director of PCSU: 75% FTE. Serves as principal investigator for numerous projects primarily in the Hawaiian Islands. Topics include basic and applied conservation and adaptive management for endangered and invasive species and ecosystems. Decides on focus and direction of PCSU and supervises project leaders and support staff from pre-proposal through final reporting. Works with departmental and university leadership, partner agencies, and other decision makers to address issues related to PCSU administration and projects. 4. 25% FTE. Serves as graduate advisor and on graduate committees. Teaches at least one course per year, based on administrative constraints. Maintains a productive line of research. Serves on departmental and university committees.
