I’m trying to speak out on behalf of a severely neglected natural area, but
my local newspaper has rejected my guest column three weeks in a row, even
though I've made edits to address their concerns. I’ve had quite a few items
published by this paper before, but suddenly they’re not accepting anything I
send, and I have a feeling they don’t want to publish on this topic.
I would appreciate recommendations for publications, blogs or other outlets
that would be willing to run a short column, 700-1000 words, by a wildlife
biologist expressing concerns about a protected area. I seem to be the only
person in my local community who cares enough to speak out, but I can’t find
anywhere that will publish what I’ve written. I’m open to any and all
suggestions, so if you can recommend anything, please contact me off-list with
