I would appreciate suggestions for any program or lab which can identify
phyto- and zooplankton from freshwater habitats. Ideally this would be a free
service, since I don’t have access to standard university resources.
I’m aware of NOAA’s Phytoplankton Monitoring Network, but they’re focused
on coastal marine environments and only track a limited number of phytoplankton
species. I’m looking to sample a different and much broader suite of species,
but I’m not sure where to start. If anyone can recommend a program, service or
other alternatives, please contact me off-list with my thanks in advance.
