Dear Colleagues, Are you attending the 2018 ESA meeting in New Orleans? Do you conduct international research? Would you be willing to share your experience navigating international rules and regulations on access and benefit- sharing, and how you address those regulations while conducting your research?
If you answered “yes” to these questions and are willing to informally share your experience, I would love to hear from you! I am helping to organize a session at the 2018 ESA meeting in New Orleans on Navigating the Shifting Landscape of International Research and Collaboration: Access, Benefit-Sharing, and the Nagoya Protocol: https://eco.confex.com/eco/2018/webprogrampreliminary/Session14309.html I’m hoping to enhance this session with a group discussion on firsthand experiences: how are researchers currently navigating some of these regulations around access and benefit-sharing, and are there any lessons learned that you can share with others? This discussion would be during the last 30 minutes of the session, and I would ask a few volunteers to briefly describe their experience in 3-5 minutes. Thank you in advance! Please reach out to me directly for more information on this session: [email protected] Sincerely, Jill Petraglia Parsons Science Programs Manager Ecological Society of America
