The Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences (GSOLS) at the Rochester 
Institute of Technology (RIT) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant 
or Associate Professor position.  We seek a colleague that uses modern 
molecular genetic approaches to study biological processes at the molecular, 
cellular, organismal, or ecosystem level, such as (but not limited to) 
biochemistry, evolutionary genetics and genomics, population genetics, 
environmental ‘omics, chromatin, molecular ecology, computational biology, or 
cancer biology.

Candidates with expertise that complements existing strengths within the School 
(e.g., biochemistry, virology, bioinformatics, biogeochemistry, ecology, 
microbiology, plant biology, and discipline based educational research) and an 
interest in multidisciplinarity are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be 
given to candidates who demonstrate capacity to incorporate the in-house 
next-generation sequencing system into their current and future research.

Successful applicants will be expected to establish an externally funded 
research program based on peer-reviewed publications, engage in collaborative 
research, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, teach introductory and 
upper level (lab-based) courses, contribute to curricular improvement, and 
perform school and university service. Teaching duties may include 
contributions to the core undergraduate curriculum in programs in Life 
Sciences, the graduate curriculum in Environmental Science or Bioinformatics, 
and upper division courses appropriate to the candidate’s area of expertise.
