Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Department of Biology at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Ecology. We seek outstanding, innovative candidates with research interests that complement and integrate those of our existing faculty. We are especially interested in those with experimental, observational, analytical, and/or theoretical approaches that address major questions in Ecology. Possible areas of synergy include, but are not limited to: global change, biocomplexity, and/or effects of the environment and interspecific interactions on ecological processes.

Applicants must have a doctorate degree and should describe their ability to develop an outstanding research program that would lead to a robust and diverse portfolio of extramural funding. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Applicants must provide evidence of their commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring, including working with students and groups from underrepresented backgrounds.
