Anyone wanting to apply should go to: https://www.icf.com/careers/jobs/R1801844 Key aspects of the position are described below: ICF seeks to hire an Earth System Science Research Coordination Student Assistant to support and coordinate activities of the U.S. Global Change Research Program's (USGCRP) interagency groups that work to advance agency efforts in Earth System science. The interagency groups are a primary vehicle for coordinating USGCRP activities across Federal agencies. The USGCRP coordinates and integrates global change research and supporting activities conducted by 13 Federal Agencies and Departments. It is overseen by the Office of Science and Technology Policy of the Executive Office of the President and by representatives from the 13 member agencies. The day-to-day activities and operations of the USGCRP are facilitated by the USGCRP National Coordination Office (NCO). The NCO is responsible for promoting interagency coordination and integration of Federal climate and global change research programs and facilitating international cooperation. Key Responsibilities The Student Assistant, under direction of the Advance Science Lead, will support interagency groups and the coordination of interagency activities around Earth System science topics, with a particular emphasis on water cycle and clouds and aerosol processes. Responsibilities include: * Creating background documents and synthesizing materials for the interagency groups with oversight from senior staff * Planning and organizing meetings and taking notes that summarize key messages, outcomes and actions from technical and detailed interagency group discussions * Researching and organizing science webinars and discussions around topics identified by the interagency groups, and providing logistical support * Conducting research to gather and maintain awareness of the breadth of integrated water cycle activities and interagency activities within the Federal government * Assisting in assembling reports and documents * Other duties as assigned This is a part-time position without benefits. The schedule is flexible based on course load, up to 30 hours per week. Basic Qualifications * Must be enrolled in an accredited secondary or postsecondary school, college, or university * Must have college level coursework in a relevant discipline such as earth systems or environmental sciences. * Skill in successfully using word processing software, databases, and collaborative software tools. * Ability to capture meeting discussions in writing and synthesize those discussions into trackable actions. * Possesses excellent oral and written communications skills. * Demonstrated organizational skills, including ability to organize and successfully implement a variety of tasks within a project __________________________________________ Daniel B.
