The Clarkson University Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) and
Department of Biology invite applicants for an Assistant or Associate
Professor, joint tenure-track faculty position to work in a
multidisciplinary environment. Teaching and research experience in
Environmental Health, Public Health, or Occupational Health, especially in
the area of epidemiology or environmental toxicology is desirable. The
Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) is home to established M.S.
and Ph.D. graduate programs in Environmental Science and Engineering, along
with interdisciplinary undergraduate degree programs in Environmental
Health Science and Environmental Science & Policy. The Department of Biology
has strengths in the areas of biomedicine, biotechnology and environmental
biology, and a M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Interdisciplinary Bioscience &
Biotechnology. Clarkson also offers three health professional graduate
degrees (PT, PA, OT) and an MBA in health care management. Through the ISE
and other research centers on campus, faculty from across campus engage in
interdisciplinary efforts to reduce occupational and public health threats
from environmental contamination, and, along with our partners at the
Trudeau Institute, to understand the etiology and reduce transmission of
infectious disease. A competitive candidate for this position will be
interested in developing cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary
collaborations that enhance any of these activities.

The successful candidate will contribute to the ISE and Department of
Biology’s Bachelor, Masters and PhD programs through teaching,
student-mentoring and investigator-initiated, extramurally funded research.
