Job Summary     
The Department of Environmental Studies at Gettysburg College invites 
applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Marine Ecology 
beginning August, 2019. Candidates should be committed to teaching 
undergraduates in an interdisciplinary department and have an active 
research program. The successful candidate will teach marine ecology, 
introductory marine science courses to non-majors, as well as upper-level 
courses in their area of expertise. The teaching load for this position will 
be five courses annually (3/2 load), where either a lecture or laboratory 
section is considered to be one course.

Qualifications  
Candidates must have a doctorate (or be ABD) in Marine Ecology or a related 
field. We seek an individual with demonstrated teaching or mentoring 
experience and an active research program. Preference will be given to those 
who can involve undergraduate students in their research. We strongly 
encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate through their 
teaching, scholarship, or service that they can contribute to the diversity 
and inclusive excellence of our community.
