Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in
Ecology/Environmental Science. This is a twelve-month contract with the
University beginning in August 2019 at the Mequon, WI campus. 

Full-time faculty fulfill the university's mission to help students develop
in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world
via teaching, scholarship and service. Faculty members participate in
curriculum development and assessment, and advise and mentor students while
serving as Christian role-models. The successful candidate will participate
in the implementation of a new environmental science major and will be
expected to teach biological, earth, and/or environmental sciences courses,
core curriculum science courses for non-majors, and upper division courses
in their area(s) of specialization. Scholarship is also expected and may
range from the biological sciences to pedagogical research.

This position is in the Department of Life and Earth Sciences and reports to
the Department Chair. The Department of Life and Earth Sciences offers
majors in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, and Environmental Studies, while
also providing foundational courses for several other professional and
pre-professional programs.

Education and Experience

    Master's Degree in field is required and an earned doctorate in biology,
ecology, or a related field is preferred.       Expertise in plant biology
is preferred.
    Previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree program
is preferred
    Interest in and the ability to include undergraduates in a research
program is highly desirable

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, 12 month position. Salary and academic rank will be
commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Concordia
