The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston invites 
applications for two 
tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. 
 Applicants with research 
interests and a record of accomplishment using quantitative approaches in 
evolutionary biology or 
ecology are encouraged to apply.  Successful applicants will have research 
interests that complement 
existing departmental strengths in evolutionary genetics and genomics, 
evolutionary ecology, 
community ecology, and evolutionary and ecological theory.  The position 
requires a Ph.D. and 
significant relevant academic experience.  Faculty members are expected to 
establish and maintain 
nationally competitive externally funded research programs and to participate 
in graduate and 
undergraduate teaching.  The Department of Biology has state-of-the-art 
laboratory space, well-
equipped core facilities, high-performance computing resources, and a coastal 
research and education 
center.  Broad opportunities exist for research collaborations within the 
University of Houston as well as
