The Department of Biological Science at Florida International University (http://biology.fiu.edu) is seeking qualified candidates for two positions of Assistant Professor or higher rank in Microbiology. We encourage applications from microbiologists with a wide range of research foci, and we are especially interested in Microbiologists working on bacteriophage biology, microbe-plant interactions, mycology, and marine microbial ecology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program, supervise graduate students in our Ph.D. program, as well as teach General Microbiology in addition to undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of expertise. The minimum requirements are a Doctoral degree from an accredited institution, a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service, and active academic research with transferable funding.
