So far, scientists haven’t detected the pathogen in North America, but many believe it’s just a matter of time until it gets here unless drastic action is taken.* - *In response, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service imposed a ban on the trade of 201 species of salamander species in 2016. However, the recent discovery that frogs can also carry Bsal led to an outcry from scientists urging government to ban the import of all salamander and frog species.* - *However, many hobbyists think a total ban is overkill.
