Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology position beginning August 1, 2019. The applicant must (or will) possess a Ph.D. in a biological discipline and be willing to teach courses in General Biology for science majors and non-science majors, and upper level courses related to their specialty. While the specific area of specialization is not yet decided, application from candidates with an expertise in areas related to the environmental sciences are especially encouraged. Such candidates with training in the marine sciences and/or at the cellular/molecular level would be viewed favorably. The successful applicant will also teach upper level courses in his/her sub discipline as part of the department’s 4-yr curriculum. Although Young Harris College is primarily a teaching institution, the candidate should also have an interest in research and the capability to direct undergraduate students in guided research experiences.
