PROFESSOR OF URBAN AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT/ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY

The Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) at
Newcastle University is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic to
provide leadership for its research, policy and teaching activities.

The Professor of Urban and Regional Development/Economic Geography
will be an individual of international reputation with an excellent
track record of internationally recognised publication, high quality
research income generation and engagement with policy. The post offers
a unique opportunity to undertake leading edge research and contribute
to the leadership and development of an internationally renowned
research centre.

Established in 1977, and celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2012, the
Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS) has an
international profile and longstanding experience in research and
teaching in local, regional and urban development and economic
geography (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/curds). CURDS is a unique research
centre that combines leading edge theoretical and conceptual
development with applied policy research and engagement for
international, national, regional and local organisations.
