Call for Chapters
Proposals Submission Deadline: December 31, 2017
Full Chapters Due: February 15, 2018
Submission Date: June 15, 2018

Introduction
Current trend is towards the integration of different geospatial technologies.
Geospatial technology as it is more commonly known, is such a multidisciplinary
tool that there are now advanced degrees in specific subjects such as GIS. The
current development and expected growth of geospatial technologies have earned
it a place as one of the emerging technologies. The connection between
geospatial technologies and information and communication system and technology
runs deep. Geomatics exposes them to modern, cutting edge and innovative
information system and technologies. Even geospatial technology has had its own
free and open source software movement in the open source geospatial foundation
(OSGeo). Geospatial projects for web mapping, desktop applications, geospatial
libraries and metadata catalogue. There has been a significant growth in
geospatial technologies applications in recent years. There is a major increase
in the availability of remote sensing imagery with increasing spatial,
temporal, radiometric and spectral resolutions. Further enhanced the growth and
development of geomatics applications. Despite the increasing utilization of
geospatial technologies in different fields like geography, earth science,
space science, digital and communications, medical and medicine, public health,
climate change. Geomatics exposes to modern, cutting edge and innovative
information system and technologies. Like field of medical geographic
information systems extremely useful in understanding the bigger picture of
public health. Geospatial technology such as GIS has many useful applications
for surveying, photogrammetry, remote sensing, mapping, geographic information
systems (GIS), geodesy and global navigation satellite system (GNSS), Drone,
UAV. The applications of geomatics are in the fields of precision farming,
urban planning, facilities management, business geographics, security and
intelligence, automated mapping, real estate management, environmental
management, land administration, telecommunication, automated machine control,
civil engineering and so on.

Objective
This book will aim to provide relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest
empirical research findings in the area. It will be written for professionals
who want to improve the understanding of geospatial current and future
methodologies and technologies, giving a complete overview of common problems
and solutions to search geospatial resources. This will provide professionals,
interested in the development of geospatial applications, techniques to design
and deploy geospatial resources in Information Infrastructures to increase the
interoperability and the visibility of these resources to maximize re-usability.

Target Audience
The target audience of this book will be composed of professionals and
researchers working in the field of geospatial information infrastructures,
knowledge management and information integration in various disciplines, e.g.
information and communication sciences, geospatial sciences like environment,
urban planning, education and sociology and disaster management.
