Dear colleagues,

I am writing to let you know about the 2018 Regional Studies Association (RSA) 
Policy Expo grant scheme.

This RSA policy grant scheme is worth £15,000 (c. €17,000, c. $18,000) and aims 
to support research teams that address a societal challenge/ opportunity in a 
policy facing way with a broad and international policy impact.

The two key deliverables from each Policy Expo are:

·         an article for Regional Studies, Regional Science with the Article 
Processing Charge (APC) sponsored by the grant (articles will be subject to 
peer review)

·         a book part of the new RSA Impact and Policy Series. This would be a 
minimum 25,000 and maximum 30,000 words policy book which will be bundled with 
the RSA journals and send to all RSA members and all libraries that have an RSA 
journal subscription thus providing the book/ researchers a global reach and 

This grant scheme has one annual call for applications and in 2018 we invite 
applications addressing the following themes:

·         Role of higher education institutions (HEIs) in regional development

·         Place-based policy making

·         The Chinese One Belt One Road initiative
