Best wishes, Jorge *Research Associate, Regional Technology Foresight* We are embarking on an exciting new project on the practices and processes of identifying, transferring and integrating technological innovations to maximise capacity and capabilities of regional firms. ‘Regional Technology Foresight’ is a 24-month project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Focusing on the Sheffield City Region as an internationally recognised manufacturing hub, the project will generate procedural solutions concerning the enhancement of a region's ability to identify and exploit technological innovations, in order to maximise competitiveness. This position is an opportunity for an ambitious post-doctoral researcher to play a key role in exploring technological foresight to better understand the patterns of change and innovation associated with regional dynamics. The appointed person will work with Dr Jorge Tiago Martins and Professor Tim Vorley, examining regional technology foresight as a concrete regional tool aimed at enhancing knowledge transfer and conversion in regional innovation networks. You will have a commitment to delivering first-class research, combining theoretical sophistication with practical relevance and impact. You will have have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and a strong background in the fields of strategy, organisation, technology and innovation. You will have excellent skills in qualitative research methods (archival research, interviews and focus groups) and experience in project management. You should be capable of delivering impact through engagement with companies and key players in the national and regional innovation system.
