*Message sent from a system outside of UConn.*

Dear colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to the following conference, which I
have already advertised earlier this year
and which is now taking place in an online format. A free registration
for the following event is still possible. Numerous contributions have a
genuinely spatial a look at family businesses - a topic that still has
room for improvement in economic geography.

I am particularly pleased to inform you that a special issue of the
German Journal of economic geography is planned, from the editorial team
will present Dr. Susann Schäfer at the conference . There are also many
other opportunities with journal publishers which might be also exciting
for economic geographers* (e.g. Entrepreneurship Theory
and Practice, Strategic Management Journal etc.). Finally, managing
directors* from Hidden champions will elaborate upon the businesses.
Have a look or forward this message to interested persons.

Best regards and stay healthy,
Lech Suwala

Respected colleagues, dear friends of strategic management, finance &
accounting, entrepreneurship and family firms,

Together with my fellow co-organizing track chairs (Profs. Jörn Block,
Suleika Bort, Rodrigo Basco, Andrea Calabrò, Torsten Pieper, Allan
Discua Cruz, Sibylle Heilbrunn, Erik Lehmann, Lech Suwala, the
transregional research project TRR 266, and many more) it is our
pleasure to invite you to join us at the biennial international research
conference “Exploring Entrepreneurial Ventures, Family Firms, and Hidden
Champions” which will be held digitally on November 16th/17th 2020,
broadcasted from University of Mannheim.

In its sixth edition, the conference aims to serve as a platform for
developing its 50 accepted academic articles in a friendly environment
as well as for academic networking. The conference's seven tracks are
connected to various disciplines such as business studies, sociology,
psychology, information systems, geography, and history.

There will be two moderated panel discussions as keynote events. One
about “the future/Die Zukunft” with thought-leading scholars. Another
one with CEOs/CFOs from German hidden champions. Moreover, there is a
meeting with editors/SI-editors of the field’s leading journals such as
SMJ, ET&P, JFBS, EJFB, JBE, MRQ and ZfW – German Journal of Economic
Geography as well as an introduction to the STEP program. Two special
issues are linked to the conference (JFBS & ZfW).

Also, there will be plenty of room to network digitally during virtual
social evening including a digital escape room scientist networking
event and the broadcast of a live-commented university-team vs.
university-team e-sports friendship match that is held uniquely for the
conference.

Free registration is open until tomorrow via:
