Dear colleagues,

ACME: An International Journal for Critical Geographies is inviting
applications for Editors to join the journal’s Collective. ACME is an
international journal for critical analyses of the social, the spatial, and the
political, and the only fully open access journal in the field of geography. We
are seeking a cadre of new editors. All who apply will be considered, including
those who have previously applied.

The role of Editor involves shaping the direction of the journal through the
following (all of which will be reciprocated by each member of the ACME
Editorial Collective):

  * Engaging in the practice of mutual support, congeniality, and collective
work
  * Communicating with editors, authors, and referees in a timely and
constructive manner
  * Contributing to the overall direction, philosophy, and practices of the
journal
  * Regularly liaising with the Collective in a cooperative and
non-hierarchical fashion
  * Agreeing to participate in frequent processes of consensus based decision
making
  * Working autonomously with an average of two to six articles per year to
steer them through the editorial process
  * Performing editorial duties associated with issuing decisions on
manuscripts and submissions

To be considered for a post, please provide the following (in a combined .doc
or .pdf document) as your application as an attachment to ACME:

  *   CV
  * Expression of Interest (500 words maximum) which should address the
following:

  * In a few sentences, why would you like to join the ACME Editorial
Collective?
  * In a brief list of topics, what experience/areas of interest would
contribute to the post?
  * In a few sentences, what is critical geography to you?
  * In a few sentences, what priorities and/or issues do you see emerging
currently in geography that ACME must support?

A commitment to mutuality, collective work, and conviviality is required. No
previous editorial experience is required; ACME will offer mentorship by
previous editors and create cohorts to build expertise. Please see the full
