There is another factor in choosing a suplier for solar products and
that is our perceptions of their ethics and sustainable intent. I
buy from the following people because they seem to live their beliefs
and do not seem on a money quest.
I agree. I prefer that. But since your only complaint about Real Goods
was their pricing I assumed that either that was all that was "wrong" with
them or that my detailed inquiry would encourage you to give more
information.

The disadvantage of Backwoods Solar is an Idaho location.
Well more than that for me, I'm afraid. They state:
Backwoods Solar Electric Systems business does not sell power systems for
grid-interconnection, but we can refer you to other businesses that do. Try
contacting www.appliedpower.com
Since I want the grid-interconnection option, Backwoods isn't the place for
me to get my system. But when we're ready to buy (it will be a year or
more I think) I'll check prices and perhaps order some of the modules from
them.
Interesting that their argument against being on the grid is that you don't
make much money selling power back to the utility. This is true but there
are other reasons to want the duel connection. Though since our power is a
whopping 17 cents per KWH, the power usage does add up.
Btw, I discovered Mr Solar when I was searching for info on tankless water
heaters and bookmarked their page. I'll take a closer look when I get a
chance.
Thanks for the refs you guys.
