Angle?

Yes, I think you want the Altitude Angle.  I did some quick, rough
calcualtions and came up with about 60 degrees for 4/15.  Notice that your
two dates do NOT have the same angles!  Your overhangs won't change with
the seasons, so you have to make them work with the same sun angle.  9/1
(not 10/15) is the other date that goes with 4/15; it is the same number
from the solstice.  If you like that pair of dates, I'd go with 57-60 degrees.
