I was trying to find a good example the other day for seemingly "green"
products that are in no way sustainable. Real Goods' latest catolog
supplied a good one (probably many more, but this one jumped off the back
cover at me):

Milk Frother Provides Cappuccino The Solar Way
This solar powered milk frother, fully charged by the sun, whips up a good
stiff foam without diluting your milk. To clean, just rinse under warm
water. This may also be the tool you reach for every time you need to
froth up a summery coaktail or juice drink. The Solar Milk Frother comes
with a hook for hanging in a sunny kitchen window. 2.5"x10"x1.5" D. Germany.

It's plastic, imported, frivolous, and who knows how it was produced or if
it has recyclable parts. It takes some pretty serious denial to use this
product and think you are being kind to the earth. Of course I'm not a
coffee adict ; )
