Rabies, Lyme Disease, Hanta Virus (book)

Contact with some natural areas has risks and this
book talks about animals and the diseases they
carry. The biggest worries are Lyme disease
and Hanta Virus. Both of these can be fatal.
The advice given is broken down by disease, but
in general this is the recomendation:
1. Avoid rodent/bat/squirrel dens or food
they may have had contact with.
2. Check pets carefully if they have been in
natural areas. Look for ticks and fleas.
3. Wear long pants and socks on walks.
4. Avoid dead animals or contact that could
result in a bite.
5. Wear repleants when in mosquito areas.
6. On warm days shower after hiking in the woods.
7. Keep area around house clean.
