Angel, i don't any specific solutions, but can make some
predations based on watching new publications. There
does seem to be a trend emerging.
The push for ecological solutions will focus less on
working within cultural structures and more towards
changing cultural structures.
This week a nature magazine (Orion Afield) had an article by
Frances Lappe on reviving democracy. Her goal was to
reconnect people with politics. When articles like this
begin appearing in nature magazines you know a shift is
coming.
Lots of books are now appearing on fixing economics to
be ecological. Some try to redefine wealth and others
want corporations out of politics and less powerful.
The news also give clues about pressures on society.
Things like prison groth and school problems all indicate
social change may be coming.
Another trend emerging is that fixing ourselves is
part of fixing social structures. This is painful and
not popular today. I think it has already begun to creep
into many religions and will eventually be more visible.
