I noticed the following quote in "Talking Leaves" magazine
and thought it significant:

Mere nativeness, for most of us, is nothing much
to brag about. Even the best intentioned of us
techno-industrial humans are mired in cash-driven,
car propelled lives. These lives render us so
nonindigeneous that the word "native" is an honor
we must earn afresh, every day.

This issue of "Talking Leaves" also had a full page
ad for the magazine HOPE. I visited the web site
at http://www.hopemag.com and found the scope of
topics oriented towards action. Most of the
discussion was about working within our culture
to change culture. This is what most people
are interested in but i'm now trying to view
the world from outside one cultural view.

On HOPE's link page i found a site i've visited
before (http://www.newdream.org/) and explored it.
The focus was still mainly within the culture,
but it was by far the most interesting site.
