On tests of our awareness of the environment, and what is destroying it,
---This is an entirely negative message, so delete it now if you prefer.---

My wife and I were catching the headlines on the tv news recently, when we
heard something quite shattering. The report concerned the use of spent
uranium in miltary ammunition. The specific item was about fishermeen's
concerns in the Maritimes, but we both knew instantly that it applied to
our region, as the USA miliary has a big presence here in its war games.

We both wondered, what is the point of being responsible citizens, shaping
our lives for a sustainable planet that we can leave to future generations,
when this kind of thing is happening, which is destroying the environment
and killing everybody around us.

We moved to this backwater to opt out of the consumer society, and all the
other trappings that corral the urban Canadian resident into the corporate
global plan. Now we find our very offshore seawater is poisoned by
recycling -- recycling of spent nuclear fuel into ammunition. There is no
escape from it.

So here is a note from some political activists.
