Julie regularly brings health magazines home from the library
and i browse through them after dinner. The overall
impression one gets is that some foods and supplements are
good for improving health. The confusing part is that there
are thousands of these health boosting foods and the list
grows each day.

The only logic i can find that fits all this is simple. Most
studies are done on a typical cultural sample. If the whole
culture eats junk food, then just about any natural food will
produce health benefits.

I tried this theory on a friend who takes a shelf of supplements
and got a negative response. They felt their diet was
good and the supplements necessary. We then talked about diet
and i ended up classifying most of my friends food as junk.
My friend classified it as good food.

So.. is refined white flour, refined sugar, soy oil, cotton
seed oil, and highly processed tomatoes and corn junk? What
about frozen potato products, hamburger, canned chilli?
Potato chips, canned soda, breakfast bars, canned spaghetti,
puddings?

Does nutrition increase as we get closer to the source?
