The Oct. issue of Science News has an article about longevity in mammals. It shows that generally larger animals live longer and have a slower heart rate. From other sources i know that people who eat less live longer. I wonder if we should pay more attention to heart rate. Eating more tends to raise the average heart rate and that may be one way it impacts longevity. The Berkeley Wellness Letter has a report about snake bites with the following curious fact: Fifteen percent of all rattlesnake bites are from dead snakes. In the Berkeley Wellness Letter again: Cancer rates have declined slightly in the last few years. One reason for this is obvious. Reduced smoking has impacted the amount of lung cancer. The bad news is that skin cancers increased by 16 percent. It is my understanding that the sun is a major factor in skin cancers.... hummm.. ---- jeff owens, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.teleport.com/~kowens underground house, solar power, self-reliance, edible landscape to leave ecopath: unsubscribe ecopath -> [EMAIL PROTECTED]
