I somehow missed this link when it was posted and just got around to
checking out the article now. Eric, you say that the main obstacles to a
sustainable future are motivation, values, and beliefs.
I think there is also another huge obstacle and that is the lack of
knowledge of how to live sustainably. I would if I could. But I really
don't know how.
Much of my time and energy is spent on trying to learn the skills I need to
live sustainably, but it is not an easy task. These things were never
taught to me by my parents, nor by the schools and universities I attended,
nor by my culture. If there is a place on the web to learn it, I have not
yet discovered it. Ecopath seems to be more about philosophy and theory and
discussion, which is important also, but I am starving for practical
knowledge and I don't know how to get it.
